Fantastic experience: First of all, I practiced martial arts for ~ 10 years, yet had not been to a class for over 15 years, so it was with trepidation that I signed up for a free beginner lesson. The entire team and students at Antara Jiu Jitsu Academy were so friendly, welcoming, and invited me to please continue after the free lesson. I extended my vacation in Dubai UAE, and enrolled and completed one month of classes attending 4-5 days each week. My fellow students were patient and helpful and made the hard work invigorating, and encouraged me to strengthen my body while re-learning techniques that I had forgotten. I was glad I made the investment, and completed the commitment. Antara Academy is amazing. Please tell them that Mike B recommended them very highly. You will not be disappointed. They not only equip all their students with self defense skills but with valuable life skills. My 7 year old has become more emotionally mature and confident thanks to their teaching methods and philosophy. They run an enrichment program for young kids that caters to the mental and emotional challenges our children face these days; by discussing real world scenarios and even sharing anecdotes and experiences in the most engaging ways; from how to set healthy boundaries, to tackling insults to how to defend from bullies. It has been insightful for myself as a parent who watches from the benches. I appreciate all the coaches there who are kind yet firm, disciplined yet fun. Every visit I’m reassured that I made the best decision by choosing this establishment. Fantastic experience: Really great studio with friendly and knowledgeable team and coaches. Everyone’s very humble and kind and the whole place has a very relaxed atmosphere. It’s very clean (which is important to me) and offers classes for both kids and adults. I came here to subscribe my daughter and ended up signing up myself and keep coming because I love it. Head coach Amine, coach Anwar and coach Allen all are super friendly and decent human beings and promote learning and fun over ego and injury. I can whole heartedly recommend this studio for anyone wanting to learn BJJ!

So i enrolled for bjj fundemental course, i can assure it was extremely satisfactory and content experience.i had takeaway more than i expected. My boys have been training here for 4 years and have grown and developed so much as young men and at jiujitsu. They thoroughly enjoy their lessons which is great to see! Fantastic experience: I started Mid-october 2021 and 5 months later I'm still hooked to this academy. Coach Amin has a great mindset. Protect yourself, play it safe and take your time to learnyour muscle memory. I've been to a couple of academies and have never felt as safe as in this one. The classes follow a curriculum that makes totally sense and you progress in no time and without noticing it. Location is perfect and timings could be improved but it does perfectly the job.

Positive experience: Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu promotes discipline to learn this unique martial art in a safe environment. The students learn to support each other’s progress from early years and make the journey to attaining skills to defend and attack as prescribed by Royce Gracie who also visits the school yearly. Boys and girls learn how to interact with mutual respect for each other and the teacher. Since writing this review 6 months ago and being with the club for almost two years, I have to make a disclaimer- the experience depends upon the teacher and recently I noticed that as kids progress to their yellow belts, the tone changes and sometimes the nurturing and confidence building elements are replaced by a more aggressive approach. Yes this is a contact martial art but I think the development for individual children aged 5-10 years old is being overlooked and I have seen some undesirable outcomes causing me to disengage with the club until this changes. Just be aware that your child is receiving the appropriate support and guidance each week as ignorance of this can have lasting impact.

Both coach Amin and coach Mumtaz are amazing with the children. I find that it is a safe haven and with a lot of respect between the coaches and peers alike. They teach a life skill that is invaluable and I look forward to the years ahead with them. A great place for children and adults alike.

Fantastic experience: Been a part of the Royce Gracie Academy for the best part of 6 months and still going strong. Loved every moment of the journey so far. Coach Amin (who has trained under the legendary Master Royce Gracie) is a phenomenal jiu-jitsu instructor and extremely passionate about his craft. It is a pleasure to learn from him and he is really accommodating as a teacher catering to students' every doubts and needs. Most of the other training / MMA institutes ignore focus on techniques and dive straight into unsupervised sparring sessions (based on the stories I have heard from friends). In my humble opinion, if it's jiu jitsu and self defense you want to learn in Dubai, this is the best place I would suggest. The academy is absolutely clean and extremely well maintained. Staff is really humble and friendly. The curriculum includes fundamentals with absolute focus on self defense. During each class, Coach Amin illustrates upto 2-3 defense techniques which is followed by students working out those techniques with each other, under his eagle-eyed supervision. There are no sparring sessions for fundamental trainees (those are included for higher ranked students). Classes are tailored for 6 year olds and beyond. The other day, we had a trainee in class who was around 65 years old. Age is just a number here; dedication is a requirement. PS: Includes a free trial class for anyone having doubts.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic. I have been looking for a boy only sport for my son. He thoroughly enjoyed today. The environment is good, clean and disciplined. Some of the staff also prayed their salah after which is fantastic for the kids. A perfect place if you want your sons to grow up with a halal (no face contact), strong and disciplined sport.

I would definitely recommend one of coach Amin's classes. People who work there are very friendly, but demanding at the same time, what is desirable in martial arts. I have visited this club today, and I would definitely recommend it to any beginner wishing to gain self defense skills, as they have a strong fundamentals program. More advanced grapplers/fighters will also undeniably benefit from the highly qualified training staff’s insights on how to adapt the sport skills to a self defense context.
