GymNation Motor City | Best Gym in Motor City

Negative experience: I strongly advise everyone to be careful when dealing with this company. They initially claim that you can close your account with a 30-day notice period, but once you actually try to do so, this condition suddenly “doesn’t exist” anymore. They continue charging membership fees and then demand additional payments without clear or valid justification. What is said verbally at the reception does not match what they later claim in writing. On top of that, the gym is constantly overcrowded, very dirty, and there is an unpleasant smell most of the time. Overall, a very poor and unprofessional experience.

But I paid one time only from my card for for my friend on March I think since that day they keep charging from me even my friend he fix her account on his account but still when he don’t have money, they’re charging from me and I many time email for them to not charge it from me, but again they’re not stopping and keep charging for me. I don’t know what I can do with this and no one can help me with this. I have very bad experience with them.

Negative experience: Avoid this gym unless you’re prepared to fight to cancel and be charged anyway. GymNation deliberately ignored my cancellation request sent before the due date, even after I provided proof that I was leaving the country. No replies. No action. Instead, they kept adding penalties and demanding payments, including new charges after I had already left the UAE. This is not a mistake — it’s predatory and unethical behavior.

Negative experience: As a first timer I was extremely disappointed. The ladies locker room/shower/bathroom is disgusting! As if it hasn’t been cleaned in forever. Also crazy they don’t have towels and when I asked if they sell them they said no out of stock. Nothing of that sort was mentioned before I came in. I showed up and left because the place is just unappealing and service even worse.

Negative experience: Had bad experiences one after another and felt like I have to share it with people because it’s really frustrating. I left my headset on the machine come back to ask about it the receptionist told me that he’ll look up but didn’t do anything. I knew that because when I came back to ask about my concern I was surprised that nobody knows about it. Then I have to talk to a second person, then the third person. Who was super aggressive and offensive and assuming things that I didn’t even think of or said that made me believe that he saw who takes it and he’s covering for him. Worst thing that this thing happened in a coming area not inside the changing rooms where there are no comers and he said that he saw my headset and he saw that it was gone but he didn’t see what’s in the middle plus he had an attitude

Negative experience: The first and the biggest complaint is there is no one cares about your complains or emails even if you send it through the official website 2nd they will try to make excuses if you try to cancel your subscription… even if you have a valid reason to cancel the contract… and they will keep asking you money.

Negative experience: They randomly deduct inaccurate amounts at times other than the scheduled monthly payments. When you confront them and request a refund, they evade and manipulate the situation — it may even lead to the cancellation of your membership. Be cautious. A piece of advice for anyone planning to join: *do not share your bank card details with them.* You don’t know who the branch manager is or who is managing the branch or whoever is in charge of the branch. The front desk employees have zero communication skills. They are defensive always and to make it more funny is that they don’t tell you who is their manager if you want to complain about something. Everything is just wrong about this gym and again DO NOT SHARE YOUR BANK CARD DETAILS WITH THEM . You will end up finding yourself self paying twice a month or perhaps being charged more than the agreed monthly payment . TOO BAD THERE IS NO BELLOW ZERO STAR RATING BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE DEFINITELY CHOSEN THIS OPTION

Fantastic experience: Absolutely impressed with GymNation Motor City. The atmosphere is vibrant and motivating, and the BLITZ studios designed for group classes are outstanding. A truly inspiring facility for anyone serious about training.

Positive experience: Positives - Good value for money - Huge area with multiple studios - Good equipment for all levels and activities - Changing rooms are large and have good showers. - Parking was an issue in the past. Since they worked out a deal with the landlord to give free parking in the yard across the road its become a major plus point. Potentials -Peak times are very crowded - Gym etiquette is really bad as a lot of people do not put away their weights and equipment after using them. I have even seen some trainers Ignore this rule too. - Less housekeeping staff. Maybe they have sufficient house keeping staff but they are pre occupied putting away weights. - Maintenance of equipment is good overall but can improve as I encounter quite a few fauty or damaged hooks, damaged grips and handles. - Reception staff are ok but could be more hospitable. Overall this gym serves my needs well.

Negative experience: Stayed for 5 days. Hotel room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast staff were very good. But the front desk and room service was way too slow and neglecting. Upon asking for the water mutiple times they didn’t provide. I had to go down and refill the jug and bottles myself.

I will definitely be going back there, as the place is perfect for working out, whether you’re doing cardio, resistance training, or functional workouts. Negative experience: GymNation is a spacious and well-equipped gym with a great variety of machines and reasonably priced memberships. However, I’ve noticed that some of the male trainers could improve their professionalism and interactions with members. On a few occasions, I’ve observed them claiming machines while others were still using them, speaking in a manner that felt dismissive, and occupying multiple pairs of dumbbells at once, which limits access for other members. While the facilities themselves are excellent, improving staff conduct and gym etiquette,especially among some male trainers ,would make the overall experience even better.

Positive experience: I have upgraded my membership so that I can visit multiple locations. But they still didn't updated my membership at every month I have to go to the counter and upgrade it manually. It shows the lack of system. They are not up to date. Be aware of that before going. 2ndly in some locations there is a parking issue. About which the staff don't bother at all or guide you about it at all. I found d their staff unfriendly even on the counter. Don't like their staff in all branches.

Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional and dishonest experience. This gym is only focused on taking your money — nothing else matters to them. Even after I clearly requested to cancel my membership, they continued charging me without permission. It’s completely unacceptable and disrespectful. They ignore cancellation requests, provide zero communication, and keep withdrawing payments as if your words don’t matter. My contract was only for 6 months, yet they still tried to take more money afterward. I feel deeply disappointed and frustrated. This kind of behavior is unethical and shows a total lack of integrity. Be very careful before trusting them with your card details.

I got scammed by Gym Nation; they will threaten you with a legal notice via email that you have to complete one year, which is funny. I got refunded my money, which they charged illegally from my card, by opening a complaint with the State Bank. Everyone be careful

Positive experience: It’s a good gym and would give 5 stars except for the fact that there are almost no spray bottles and paper towels, always seems to be missing and empty! Washrooms also always dirty! There are cleaners working, but it’s as though they don’t care about the cleanliness… Every morning I need to go and ask the cleaners to find the spray bottles and fill the paper towel dispensers! Surely this shouldn’t be the member’s responsibility

Negative experience: Watch out for their predatory terms and conditions particularly in regards to exit clause from a contract. Du, etisalat and various other places work by contract and you have an exit clause where you pay a small amount and you are clear. But here they have very specific three clauses..1) injury or illness, loss of job( not by resignation) and relocation. Any other reason is not acceptable forcing you to pay the remaining pending amount of your yearly contract. A person need to have the freedom to quit whenever they want for whatever reason by paying a cancelation fee...not the whole pending sum. Ridiculous and shameful

Positive experience: Conceptual gym that has encouraged the masses to be more health conscious with their pricing approach even though it can be confusing if not dealt carefully. Very busy during the peak hours however the setup is great. the in house dine in offers a great menu of food that is also available for those who would like to grab something.

Negative experience: I came with my husband to check for both if us and i asked if there is a schedule for the classes , the receptionist said we have to do it online otherwise it will be long or it will take long. I didn’t get it ,anyway the signal was weak so we left. I came before and I remembered i have the number so i asked about the schedule, Biza answered without even saying hi and mentioned link she sent before, and also said to check online. I told her if i can check online I wouldn’t have to come or text, forget about it she said ok. I said i will not proceed she answered my message with without explanation why you don’t have a schedule or if you do have or not. Iam disappointed in gym nation me and my husband who used to go there. I will never think to come back as Biza didn’t treat me as a client. Biza if you don’t like your job quit don’t reflect this to you potential clients. That was a very bad experience It’s been a week and the management that will get back to me didn’t even bother. Negative experience: Gym has amazing equipment and is affordable but the majority of people do not follow rules or human decency and zero action is taken. Example: wear shoes at all times.. people walk around in socks. Wipe down machines after use. Less than half the people do. No action taken. Put weights back after use. Very few people do. You're working out on a machine, people just come and remove weights without even asking.. no manners. Never seen a gym with such disrespect for other members. AC system does not work Thermostats set to 10 degrees... temperatures between 24.5 in some areas to 25 & 26 in others. I partially regret signing up but the facilities themselves are great and so is the price but come on... enforce the rules you set

Negative experience: Absolutely the worst gym experience in the region. The facilities might pass, but the real downfall is the reception staff. Instead of being welcoming and helpful, they are defensive, rude, and completely unprofessional. Simple questions are met with arrogance as if they are doing you a favor. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was shockingly told “we have no manager”.nit once several occasions .This alone shows how poorly the place is run. The reception staff in particular carry themselves with unnecessary attitude, zero customer service skills, and no respect for members. For a brand that promotes itself as affordable and accessible, the way GymNation Motor City operates is embarrassing. Poor recruitment, no accountability, and a toxic front desk culture make this gym one of the worst choices you could make.

Negative experience: There's no parking in this gym, the gym is quite dirty. There are cockroaches all over the gym especially in the women's locker room. When you open the cubbies, roaches pop out of random places especially on the walls. Roaches are only inhabitants of dirty facilities. A lot of the equipment is broken, and for some reason that gym is always full. At some random hours, there's always lots of children there. Not the children shouldn't work out in the gym, but it's a bit excessive. They need to do a better job of cleaning and at the same time people at the gym need to take a better responsibility of cleaning up after themselves. I wish they could do a lot better.

Fantastic experience: Cool and spacious gym with many exercise machines and classes.

Negative experience: Good equipment - the issues are there is practically no AC and the gym is very hot and crowded needs to be improved. And no water dispenser on site and charge slot for water. I've been a member for a while and this causes many issues. Same with subscription. If these issues were resolved my review would be much higher as there is a fair variety of equipment.

Negative experience: I visited the gym on 5 September at 15:45pm and wanted a day pass, she was extremely rude and refused to help me. She refused to share her name to me ans said no management works at gymnation. One of the worst services I received since being in the UAE since 2010.

GymNation in Control Tower is the answer. This place is huge. Biggest of its group in the UAE, packed with more equipment than you could ever need, whether you’re a nervous first-timer or a gym pro who knows all the machines by nickname. And the cherry on top? Free parking. In Dubai, that’s basically worth a membership alone. Now, let’s address the early morning crowd. If you turn up before 9am, you’ll find the place full of freshly groomed real estate agents. The men smash out a few bicep curls before squeezing into suits so tight they look like they’ve been vacuum-sealed. The women, meanwhile, glide around in perfect gym wear, alternating between light cardio and taking selfies destined for Tinder. It’s less “fitness class” and more “casting call for a property lifestyle ad.” But the real warriors, the ones who actually came to sweat without being offered a studio apartment with “great investment potential” arrive after 9am. That’s when the gym transforms into what it’s meant to be a proper training ground for normal people who just want to work hard without accidentally signing a tenancy contract between sets. The facilities are excellent, the atmosphere is motivating, and the staff deserve a shoutout, especially Rachna, who somehow convinced me to rejoin after a two-year hiatus. She should probably be in real estate herself because her sales skills are that good. All in all, GymNation Motor City is an outstanding gym with a touch of Dubai comedy thrown in. Come for the weights, stay for the parking, and maybe leave with a new apartment brochure in your gym bag.

I received a phone call from one of their representatives regarding a payment issue, and the behavior was extremely unprofessional. The person refused to identify himself, spoke in an inappropriate manner, and even yelled during the conversation. This is not the way to treat clients. Respect and professionalism should come first, but sadly that was not the case here. I would not recommend dealing with a company that disregards basic customer service standards.

Negative experience: I originally signed up for this gym in Dubai with the understanding that I would only be there for 90 days. I made it clear from the start that I wanted only a three-month membership and asked to cancel immediately so I wouldn’t have to deal with it later. Instead, I was told I would need to provide a handwritten cancellation letter two weeks before leaving. Despite my instructions, the membership was never canceled. For the past six months, the gym has continuously attempted to charge my card and is now threatening me with legal action over a small balance of roughly $25. I find this behavior extremely unprofessional, especially since I clearly communicated from the beginning that I would not continue past the three months. I now receive daily harassment emails and repeated card charge attempts, even though I no longer live in the UAE and had no intention of staying beyond the initial membership period. This seems to be a common issue, as many reviews mention similar problems. Unfortunately, I should have taken those warnings more seriously. Beyond the contract issues, the gym itself is poor quality: dirty locker rooms, no water provided, and broken air conditioning. I would strongly caution anyone considering this gym.

Negative experience: Very bad customer experience in motor coty branch. Staff is rude and not customer friendly they didnt allow me in for the free day pass after i came all the way to the branch. There are no mats provided, no water dispenser, lockers smell bad, and some machines are out of service. One staff member told me i get free week access then the other staff says its only 3 days.

Negative experience: Particularly unhappy with the treatment I got at reception. I've seen a few reviews saying the front desk is warm and friendly but I would challenge that to say that it's selective. I came in together with my partner and she greeted him " Good morning,sir!" warmly with a smile as we were redeeming our day pass. Once he was in, she simply stared at me with a look that felt like " What do YOU want?". I felt overlooked in stark contrast with the person I was with. All customers should be treated equally, as I paid the same amount as anyone. The gym is nice and well equipped but also messy and well worn. Could be improved.

Negative experience: Asked to switch gym branches as I am moving away to a different neighbourhood and they told me you have two options upgrade your membership or cancel your existing membership but their system is auto rejecting my cancellation request. And no one contacted me so far.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with the service. I took a 3-month subscription in April, but they kept charging me for a 4th month without informing me. No one tells you that you need to fill out a cancellation form — they just assume they can keep charging you forever. They don’t accept cash payments, so they get your card details and misuse them like this. There’s no proper contact number, and no one replies to emails, messages, or calls. Staff either ignore you or say they’ll call back and never do. Highly unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend this gym at all.

I have tried for months to communicate, request fixes, and send multiple complaint emails, but nothing has been resolved. This review is my last attempt to get their attention. 1. Broken Equipment – More than 80% of the bicycles in the RPM class are broken. Every class, we waste time switching bikes, which ruins the workout experience. Even their own coaches are frustrated and complain about the issue, yet nothing is being done to fix them. 2. Misleading “Free Session” from Enhance Team – Gym Nation claims they offer a free session where they will tour the gym with you, teach you how to use the machines, and give you a basic workout plan. However, in reality, they only analyze you, say they “know what’s good for you,” and then refuse to provide any details unless you pay for a package. This is not a free session—it’s just a sales tactic for a third-party business. I even sent multiple emails with screenshots of Gym Nation’s own promises, but I received no useful response. They continue misleading members with this false offer every day. 3. Terrible Parking Situation – Finding a free parking spot is like winning the lottery. I have to wait 10 to 30 minutes every time. The paid parking isn’t RTA; it’s UP parking, which charges extremely high rates. After months of complaints and no action, it’s clear that Gym Nation Motor City does not care about its members’ concerns. Poor service, unresponsive management, and misleading advertising—definitely not recommended. ————————————- *Update 1st June 2025* RPM Equipment: Same poor conditions, maybe even worse. Parking Update: Good news — they’ve secured a contract with UP Parking on the other side of the street (about a 5-minute walk). You can now park there and register your plate number to use the parking for free during your workout. Note: This is not a covered parking area. During summer, be careful not to leave sprays or any items that could explode or catch fire when exposed to heat inside your car.
