Negative experience: I was a member at GymNation for some time and initially had a positive experience, but recently, I’ve had serious concerns about their billing and communication practices. After my contract was canceled in 2023, I was shocked to receive a threatening email demanding funds for something that should’ve been resolved two years ago. There was no prior contact or notification during this time, which is deeply troubling. I believe the issue stems from internal errors on their end, yet I’m being asked to pay for something I should not be responsible for. It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with, especially after no attempts were made to reach out earlier. The situation is still ongoing and have raised it with DED, and I will update my review accordingly once it is resolved. I hope this feedback helps others who might be facing similar issues

Negative experience: They lie about the cancellation requirements. They won't let you cancel and will harass you even if you move out of the country and provide sufficient proof. Very overpriced as well. They will auto renew you without your knowledge or permission.

I felt the environment didn’t support serious athletes, and management was completely absent—no follow-up, no listening, not even basic respect for communication. I only found real respect and support after joining a more advanced and professional gym.

Negative experience: “This was honestly disappointing. This is the first gym I’ve ever seen where the free guest access takes 24 hours to activate! The staff member didn’t clearly explain this process — we filled out the information on the tablet, and only afterward he told us it would take 24 hours. As a member, I invited someone to try the gym before deciding on a membership, but they were not allowed to enter. Very frustrating experience.”

Negative experience: The worst gym I have ever joined in my life, from the poor treatment from the club management and employees, they are only thirsty for money and there is no customer service. I froze my membership because my doctor forbade me from exercising a month ago, until I was surprised the day before yesterday that I was being blackmailed by the Gymnasium management, as I received an email asking me to pay the monthly installment within 48 hours or they will sue me. This shocked me a lot, as I contacted the club and also some of the employees in the reception service, but my messages were ignored by the employees or the management. This is not the first time they have done this, as my brother was also mistreated by personal trainers. It is sad that a place like this was part of my daily life to change for the better and then it became for the worse.

Negative experience: I rejoin the gym due to sales call offer from Mr Harry ,I clearly mentioned to him that I want The membership in Alzahia Branch in Sharjah because it's 10 steps near to my House and I dont have Car at this time , he said its ok he can give me a gymnation Plus offer and i can access all branches it was nice offer , and he told me Alzahia Branch will open this Month which was March 2024 me and my friend Joined and paid but unfortunately the Alzahia Branch did not open ,every month we kept asking when it will open he keep saying this month very sure again it didn't open until we paid for 6 month then I request to Cancel my membership coz the staff lied to me and the gym didnt open , they didn't cancel membership and kept deducting Money and their Excuse was i can access other branches which I can't coz I clearly mentioned before joining that I dont have a car now and I want only Alzahia Branch They made my pay for 10 Month without opening the gym until I had to Cancel my card , then I informed them that I dont want to renew my membership again I need to cancel but the renew it and until now it's not cancelled , they want me to pay again for 1 year didn't even go to the gym for a single day and the refused to cancel i told them I will pay the 2 month remaining from 1 year contract and they should give me the 10 month access coz it's their mistake that the gym wasn't open and I already paid for 10 month Iam really frustrated and angry, and they make me hate this gymnation so much

Negative experience: A Deeply Frustrating Experience at GymNation Al Quoz I signed up at GymNation Al Quoz on 24 June, after being heavily pressured by a representative to register immediately in order to “lock in a limited-time discount.” There was no proper breakdown of the rigid 12-month agreement — I was simply sent a payment link without any written terms or an opportunity to review the contract beforehand. It was only after I made the payment that I realized my membership had already been activated. What followed was even more disappointing: I was given a 3-day “trial” after the contract was finalized — which completely defeats the purpose of offering a trial in the first place. Within just a few days of trying to attend, I realized the daily commute from JLT after work was physically draining and mentally exhausting. I reached out immediately, not to request a refund, but to cancel future charges for a service I was clearly unable to use. There’s no customer service hotline — only automated replies via email. The same staff member who convinced me to join now refuses to assist, stating there’s “nothing that can be done.” I had hoped this gym membership would support my mental and physical well-being, but the extended commute after a full workday left me feeling more stressed and burned out than before. I simply cannot manage this routine, and continuing to pay for a full year under these conditions is unreasonable. Their policies offer zero flexibility or consumer consideration — no grace period, no cancellation options for genuine personal constraints, and no real assistance for new members within the first week. I'm still waiting for my money back. Please consider this carefully before enrolling. Once you sign up, there’s no way out — even if the gym becomes unworkable from the very beginning.

Think carefully before joining. Once you’re in, there’s no way out — even if it stops serving your needs from day one.

Negative experience: Communication via WhatsApp with STELLA: Stella contacted me via WhatsApp to offer me a membership. I asked if it was possible to get a trial session as I wanted to see if I liked the gym and facilities before committing- which many gyms do. She eventually offered me a 1 trial session to their reformer pilates class in Al Quoz branch which I attended and really enjoyed. The instructor was great. After the session Stella reached back out to ask if I wanted to proceed with the Membership because the ‘Wellness Day offer’ (399 per month) was apparently going to expire at midnight. I asked her for some time to decide, so she gave me until the end of the day. In the meantime my friend who was a previous GymNation member told me she did not have a good experience, and that her membership was only 150aed! So naturally I told Stella very politely that the price was too high for me and that I wasn’t going ahead with it and ‘thank you for your help’. Stella replied very unprofessionally, defensive and slightly condescendingly - making me sound naive and stupid, as though I have not done my research, which I was very shocked by. I have done my research with multiple gyms and studios, and my friend has even told me her membership was 150aed, so excuse me? Her response was: “Guess you have not checked the price of reformer on market You should try to check other studio’s and see the prices.” If customer service for potential new members is like this BEFORE joining then I can’t imagine what it must be like after joining. Poor tone, and the reason why I definitely will not recommend- based off of my experience. Unfortunate.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with the unethical practices of this gym. They allowed a minor—under the age of 15—to sign a long-term contract without any parental consent( they are contradicting their own policies which are posted under terms/conditions on their own website- see attached photo).Once we/parents discovered the agreement and raised concerns, the gym shockingly refused to cancel the contract, even after it was clear that a child had signed it without proper understanding or approval. It’s unacceptable for any professional establishment to enter into binding agreements with minors, especially for long-term financial commitments. This shows a complete lack of responsibility and disregard for ethical standards and parental rights. Parents, please be very cautious before trusting this gym with your child. I strongly urge the management to review their policies and take accountability. This kind of behavior damages the community’s trust.

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible experience with GymNation Al Quoz. They push you to sign a contract without clearly explaining the terms or and there is no document to read it. All they do is send a payment link, and once you’re in, the tone completely changes. If you're even slightly late with a payment, they start calling aggressively and speaking in a threatening manner, demanding immediate payment without any professionalism or courtesy. It feels like dealing with scammers, not a legitimate fitness organization. I am currently preparing to report them to the police and take legal action. This gym operates with deceptive practices and zero accountability. Avoid this place at all costs — not worth your money, time, or peace of mind.

Not explaining or treating the same attitude showed to white skin or western customers.

Negative experience: I’ve had a very disappointing experience with this gym. They have been charging me without my consent, even though I paid through Apple Pay. They continue to take money without any authorization from me. Additionally, I had a shoulder injury, and they completely ignored it. They promised to take a freezing fee only, but instead, they charged me for both freezing and a subscription without my approval. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this gym and not to subscribe to their services.

Negative experience: Recently visited al qouz branch for the free trial before joining and i must say Very Rude staff. Especially the Filipino lady behind the reception. Every thing else is great interms of machinery, lay out etc. But due to the constant rudeness and entitlement over multiple days from the reception I decided not to join this gym. I.e - simple things like saying good morning multiple times on multiple days just to get a stare and no response, even asking her how to validate the parking, to get a sigh and a look as if you are asking her for a huge favor. Ruins the entire customer experience from the start.

I took only three month membership after that I request to close my membership, but still, they are deducting money from my card. The same case is happened three time

Now, they are even threatening legal action if I don’t pay for a membership I never intended to commit to long-term. This is completely unfair and unprofessional. I can publish this on the newspaper & see how this feels for all of you! Do you think this is a joke to you!?! because it’s not funny at all! How would you feel if you didn’t have any members inside your gym at all!?! Because a lot of negative feedbacks are coming from other members on Google & during the COVID lockdown I have never stepped a foot into this gym at all! Do you think that this is right to you!?! I don’t think so! Also the other classes of your gym am I allowed!?! Wrong answer! I was only allowed in 2 classes body pump; body combat & Zumba! What about the muaythai muppets class am I allowed!?!! No I’m not even allowed at all because it’s a PAID CLASS! Either every member applies for that class but as for me I’m a useless person who can’t even take part of a self defense class at all! It’s not unfair to me but unfair to everyone involved IN THIS GYM! Also does GymNation have a telephone number!?! Absolutely not! Don’t tell me to come into your gym & discuss this in the gym because this doesn’t work out with me like that! That’s not a magic trick! Because It’s not what you think! It’s what everyone thinks & wants it! If you want this gym to work perfectly then show this to everyone else because this accomplishes nothing! Also another thing this gym wouldn’t be a gym at all! How about the cycling do you think this is a free class A:it is! Q: how about MuayThai muppets class? A: wrong answer! it’s a paid class! It should be a free class not a paid class! Also does GymNation even have a a telephone number? NO! Because they don’t want to pay for the landline service & also do they have an email address for other members to complain about the service? Also NO! How about if I complained to your Headquarters in Dubai about how extremely disrespectful to other members saying that I am not allowed to access the muaythai class! Based on my gym experience on all these things based on my experience & the disadvantage of taking advantage of other members is a federal offense & as a matter of fact not only you have lost a member of your club! So I have no other choice but to call the media & publish it on the headlines to see how does that feel if you lose a valuable member? Please don’t tell me to send all my comments & feedback to your manager; because this doesn’t work out like in a snap! As I have been to all fitness centers nothing works for me! So why don’t you explain this to your manager because I’m so sick & tired of all these things! Why don’t you just explain this to your manager in which the service is not working out well! Regretting this decision I will take immediate action whether you like it or not

Negative experience: After one day of signing up and visiting Al Quoz branch, i immediately dropped an email asking to cancel the membership, the changing rooms were extremely dirty, the response i got? “You should have checked the facility before signing up, and you may go to the other branch” even though its not convenient ‍♂️ zero common sense. The waiting time at the machines is unbelievable, no proper gym size vs memberships management.
